    I have finished my laste game in this fine tournament !. Also this was a draw, this time against Mr. Frank Beckmann who is from Germany and play on the team Zugzwang Bocholt 4. I had two pawn and bishop against one horse in the endgame, but it was not possible to win so we agreed draw. I was handling the white pieces and the opening in this game was


    I won this group/table but I am not satisfied with my play in this tournament. Two clerical error and many good positions which I could not manage to win is the reason for that. Anyway; I would give a big thank-you to all my competitors for making this such an enjoyable and hard-fought tournament!!  Take care all my chessfriends !

    I have won my game against Albert Bost ( GER ) who is playing for the team Schachfreunde St. Wendel. I was handling the white pieces and
    the
    opening in this game was E66: King's Indian: Fianchetto: 6...c5 7 0-0 Nc6 8 d5. We played 57 moves before Albert throwed in the towel. I have only one game left in this tournament now. Please see the table which is updated !.

    I have played draw against Sorin Ciucurel from Romania. Sorin is playing for the team CSU Craiova. I was one pawn up in the endgame but I could not win so we agreed draw. Sorin was handling the white pieces and the opening in this game was B80: Sicilian Scheveningen: 6 g3 and 6 Be3, including English Attack. Please see the table which is updated !.

    I have played draw against my friend from Spain Josep Mercadal Benjam. I tought I was standing better but after some major analysis did I accept his draw offer. Josep was handling the white pieces and the opening in this game was B80: Sicilian Scheveningen: 6 g3 and 6 Be3, including English Attack. This was in fact the same line that I played against Manfred Nimtz from Germany. Manfred played a better line that Josep and won ! ...  Please see the table which is updated !.

    I have played draw against Nazar Y. Ernazarov from Kazakstan. The game was pretty boring since every move had been played before ...
    I was
    handling the white pieces and the opening in this game was E15: Queen's Indian: 4 g3 sidelines, 4 g3 Ba6 and 4 g3 Bb7 early deviations.
    I have finished two games in this final now and both have ended draw after bad openings choices from me. Please see the table which is updated !.

    I have finished my last games of two against my friend Aleksandr Dushin from Russia. I won this game and that means that I won my match against Aleksandr with the score of 2 - 0 to me, since I also won our first game. See date 02.10.2006. This last win was my black game and the opening in this game was B97: Sicilian Najdorf: Poisoned Pawn.

    This was also the last game in this "big" and greate match !.
    And we won the match with the score of 65½ against 62½.

  • 10.11.2006   NPSF 60 GM email-tournament
    I have finished my last game in this fine tournament, and I won !. This last game was against Bo Jäderholm from Finland wich is known as
    "The Land of the Thousands Lakes"  (actually there are 187888 lakes! ).
    Since I won this game did this also give me a outright first place in
     NPSF 60 GM email-tournament with the score 10 of 14 possible
    (
    +6 =8 -0 ). Bo was handling the white pieces and the opening was B92: Sicilian Najdorf: 6 Be2. We played 52 moves.

    I have also have given up my last game in this fine tournament ...
    This was against my friend from the Netherlands Michiel Pieter Plomp. This means that I ended up with the score 5 of 12 possible ( +2 =6 -4 ).
    Michiel and I will meet again soon ... ! ... and I will try to get my revenge then, watch up Michiel !.
    The opening in this game was
    A11: English Opening: 1...c6 and we played 53 moves. Please see the table which is updated !.

    Summing up: This was a greate tournament to play in with many good opponents ... so it was disappointing that I did not performed so well.
    I will now put all my efforts to win my last game in
    NPSF 60 GM email-tournament and the do well in ICCF Olympiad 15 Final.

    I had also the pleasure to meet Richard Hall from England under the concress and choosed  the opportunity to give up my game against him, person to person since the game had been lost some time now.
    I think I had the better position/game but overplayed it when I played
    35. f4-f5. After that move everything collapsed and he won easy.
    This means that Richard won this fine tournament with the score of 8½ of 12 possible ... ( +5 =7 -0 ) ... congratulate Richard !.
    I would also use the possibility to say thank you to my friend
    Søren Peschardt who was so kindly to invite me to this
    tournament.
    The opening in this game was A41: 1 d4 d6: Tartakower System and Modern Defence and we played 60 moves.

    This year ICCF concress was very eventful and I think we made some good decisions. It is always nice to meet old CC friends !.
    This year did I also have Ivar Bern with me and I also had the pleasure to meet Andrew Dearnley from England who is a good man !.
    Thank you Andrew for the fine time in Dresden - hope to see you in Norway next summer !.
    And I have not forgotten my new friends from India, Slovakia, Slovenia and many many more. I will try to put out some picture from the concress on this webpage when I get time ...

    There will I bee the Norwegian delgate this year since Roal Berthelsen is not going. I will drive down to Dresden with my car. Together with me in the car will the guest of honour to this year concress Ivar Bern be.

    Because of this is I granted special leave in all my tournaments from
    13 - 22 ( 10 days ) October.

    in the Jubilee match  between our countrys, Sweden and Norway. The game ended draw after we had played 53 moves. The opening in this game was C45: Scotch Game. This means that I won our match
    1½ - ½, since I won our first game - See date 03.05.2006.

    I must admit that I did not like my position after the opening moves.
    This after I tried to trick him in the opening but it was him who tricked me !. Bad boy Jason !. I was handling the white pieces and the

    I have played draw against Dov Rozenberg from Israel. He was standing better all the way ... so I was afraid that I would lose this game, but he could not find any decisive line for him. So I manage to play draw !.

    I am back from Turin / Torino where I have followed the FIDE chess Olympiad. There did I take many picture´s which I will put out on this webpage ... I also meet some CC - frinds there !.

    As you perhaps know is I the Editor-in-Chief for ICCF AMICI and to day did I launch the n°8 of that magazine. You can read the ezine online in multiple formats and download it in doc and pdf file formats. It is also possible to download games in cbv and pgn formats.

    Since I have been on pretty heavy medication lately, I have had trouble performing my daily chores (wife, kids, work, CC games,…!). 
    In addition I am webmaster for NPSF (The Norwegian CC Federation) and have just started to play board 2 for Norway in Olympiad 15 Final. Because of all this I am afraid I have to throw in the towel as editor/webmaster for ICCF AMICI.
